First of all I have to apologize for the dryness of my hands. I did this swatches during a very cold day (after a cold week) so they were quite ugly (my hand always suffer during winter, even if I cover them with lotion and shea butter every evening and during the day, too).

Concerning the polish, it's a nice light green with a foil-ish finish, but it's quite fluid and sheer and it requires at least three coats (in my pictures) to be opaque. I wish it was more pigmented.

First, I apologize for the condition of my hands in the photos. It was a sunny but cold (freezing after a week) and my hands suffer terribly during the winter (even if I line them every night - and even during the day - with tons of creams and shea butter). So ignore what's around and concentrate on a pale green glaze :-) almost foil, unfortunately, fairly liquid and transparent, three hands for the photographic results, I would have liked to be more intense.

Back again with some green: this is a discountinued Essence shimmer, a dark "pine green" very intense and pigmented. Easy application, polish is quite dense and one coat is enough; on my pointer finger I had to apply another one just because I messed it during drying, so that nail is slightly darker. 

Lovely, but now that finally I've tried it, I have to put it back, waiting for the next fall/winter (this happens when you buy more than you swatch :-)).

Shade - Bounce

Arieccomi with the greens, this is a shimmer Essence Out of print (ok, who have removed almost all colors except the last), super deep and pigmented. I do not know what to call it, "forest green"? The writing is excellent, the glaze is thick and just one pass, the index I had to give it two because I messed up (you see that is a bit 'darker). Now that I swatch I can put it back on, until the next fall / winter does not serve me (that's what happens when you buy too many glazes, I can not keep up with the seasons)!

Just a little break in my green series to show you one of the just-released "Kiko polishes: Beige Mauve.
It remains quite streaky after first coat so I HAD to apply a thick second one to make solid. Its name is quite appropriate Because it's a sort of beige / taupe cream with a strong lilac / mauve tone. It dries quite quicky (I did my hands after dinner, Did not apply top coat before going to bed and this morning it was perfect) and really shiny. Lovely!

interrupt the first part of the green (at the end I have posted only two so far, but I have other swatch ready :-)) for one of the new Kiko, the Mauve Beige.

The first hand is a bit 'streak so I made a second to even very dense. The color is very distinctive, the name suits him because he is a sort of taupe on brown but with a strong tone purple / lilac. E 'shiny and dries quickly (hands made quite late last night, no TC this morning and perfect with no signs). Very cute!

Kiko Haul (New Spring Collection - Spring Collection)

Kiko recently Launched 40 new colors (Seems They will be in Spring-Summer LE - Actually Kiko Them just added to the website without a specific press release) and the news really thrilled me (and a lot of Italian polish addicts). Saturday I managed to carve out an hour and Went (run) to the mall. I disregarded grays and LILACS, Being afraid to buy a dupe of something I Already Own, here above the picture of what I grabbed (from left to right):

soon I realized that Kiko had added new colors to your folder ( Last week the news has spread about the various nailblog, along with swatches first) I went into fibrillation and Saturday I finally managed to carve out an hour to run (literally) at the mall. On gray and lilac I have ventured, I was afraid to bring home the duplication of colors that I maybe have second thoughts calmly later. Here's what I took away (from left to right):

319 Light Taupe - Light Tortora
320 Beige Mauve - Mauve Beige
325 Grey - Grey Green
338 Light Lavender - Lavender Light
342 Sea Green - Green Water
346 Olive Drab - Verdone Light

I just say that I changed my profile picture for this polish. I know it's a fall color (Rodeo Diva Collection in 2008) but I find it amazing: a dark olive green (almost black) with golden shimmer. I couldn't stop taking pictures of this beauty, and I must add that application is easy peasy and it's perfectly opaque in two coats. Pure love!!!!

Here I will just say that this glaze has become the photo in my profile! I know it's a fall color (Rodeo Diva Collection of 2008) but it's wonderful, a very dark olive green with golden shimmer. I ended up not more than taking pictures! Among other things, is perfect in two hands and the writing is superb! For me, a love at first sight :-)

If someone asked me how many green polishes there were in my “untrieds” I think I would have said “two or three”. Yesterday evening I decided I've dedicated next posts to coming Spring, with a “green series” so I picked them from my box and I discovered I have ELEVEN of them, without counting the one featured today and those I already posted about. Am I an “unaware” green polish lover?

Anyway don't worry, I won't post them all now :-P

Let's begin with this mini [b] Basic that I bought last summer: a light green with a metallic/frost finish. Even if there are visible brush strokes, it gets opaque in two easy coats and I love how bright and spring-y this color looks.

Se mi avessero chiesto quanti smalti verdi avevo nei miei “untrieds” I think I would have said "two or three." Last night I decided that I would dedicate the next post with the spring greens and so I pulled them out. I am shocked: I have eleven more than today and not counting those already swatch! I am a lover of the green and I have not ever noticed?
In any case do not worry, all will post them one after another!

start with this, one of smaltino [b] Basic which I bought last summer is a light green metallic / pearl despite the super visible brush marks I really enjoyed it, especially for the "reflection" and the color of spring. This, too, with two hands is perfectly hiding.

When this collection Came Out That I Was not excited about the magnetic trend so I just bought one of Them, without the magnet, and left untrieds it in my box. Then one day I was wondering what to swatch (it was cloudy so I avoided both shimmer and glitter polishes) and grabbed this one. By the way I have also to explain that (don't laugh please I feel so stupid) I thought that stripes came out because the specific "polish magnet" shape or whatever so trying with a fridge magnet wouldn't have given the same result. BUT as soon as I tried first nail I discovered that stripes "emerge" naturally with any magnet (my hubby blabbered something I didn't understand about iron particles properties). So cool!

One coat only, then you put a magnet really close to the nail (1-2 mm) and stripes come out immediately! On pointer finger I gave the wrong angle so I applied another coat and re-do them.

The only thing that counts is to be very quick in the application/magnet process. I love this effect, also because in pictures stripes seem in relief but IRL nail surface is actually quite smooth. 

I'm really happy Essence decided to make four of them part of the permanent collection, I hope I'll find them this Spring.

Quando sono usciti questi smalti non mi ispiravano molto, così ne ho preso uno solo, senza magnete e l'ho messo nella scatola degli untrieds. Poi, dopo a couple of months I took it out "just to do" (the sky was overcast that day and it was not worth swatch glitter and shimmer), because I was convinced that the magnet had a particular shape (to create lines - for Please do not laugh) and despite having read that you could use any magnet, I thought did not work.

Instead I realized that, with any magnet (I used one of the refrigerator, keeping it tilted) the enamel is raised to form "spontaneously" lines: -0. The reason is unknown to me, (my husband has blathered something about the properties of certain particles but did not understand anything) I still love it. Simply apply one coat and pull (1-2 mm) magnet nail, I was wrong and the inclination of the index I covered everything with another hand and rebuilt. The only important thing for me has been quick to lay / magnetize.

Another thing: even if the photos it looks like the enamel is wrinkled, the surface is smooth and ... Magiaaaa!

I bitterly regretted not having taken other glazes in this collection! Fortunately, the Essence has decided to make "permanent" four, hooray! I hope to find them ;-)

Comparison: 03 Catrice purposely vs Purple Grape Pop

Here it is! The twin brother of Catrice purple I posted yesterday: nothing less than China Glaze Grape Pop (swatched when I wasn't aware of post-application cleaning :-P).
Colors are almost identical, Grape Pop being just a tad darker, but the real difference is in application: the CG is a pleasure to apply, wonderful in two coats whereas the Catrice Tends to come out streaky, in fact after two coats I Realized Just When I was taking pictures That Was Not Perfectly opaque pointer finger. If you do not own Either of Them and like this shade of purple, I heartly recommend Grape Pop (Depending on Where You Live One Of Them Will Be hard to get, anyway).

Tadaaa! Here is the twin brother of Catrice posted the last time: no less than Grape Pop of China Glaze (one of my first swatch, when the cuticle remained colored: -0). Are almost identical (Grape Pop is very slightly darker), but the difference is all in writing, given that China Glaze stretches virtually alone and is perfect in two passes, while the purple Catrice tends to crawl, so much so that after two hands I realized that photographing the index was perfect.

So if you have neither succeeded in making (without fainting eh, even if it is a beautiful color), I strongly suggest Grape Pop, among others, the Catrice was LE and I do not think that we this brand is easy to find.
